world fastest electric car
The French automaker Peugeot has unveiled an interesting new all-electric concept vehicle ahead of the 2018 Paris Motor Show: an all-electric coupe concept with some muscle car DNA and an impressive powertrain.
The Paris Motor Show is not until next month, but it looks like Peugeot couldn’t wait to show us the Peugeot e-Legend.
They say that the vehicle has some autonomous driving capability, but it is still built around driving.
Jean-Philippe Imparato, CEO of Peugeot, said about the car:
“Peugeot e-LEGEND concept is not just a technological manifesto. This is the vision of a brand, PEUGEOT, actively focused on an optimistic and ultra-desirable future. For Peugeot, autonomous and electric are synonymous with even stronger sensations. Boredom will never be part of our DNA.”
Speaking of DNA, the e-Legend certainly has some 504 Coupe heritage, but it is modernized and even more aggressive than ever. It even has some American muscle car design accents not unlike a Camaro (aside from the new one).
The French automaker wants the car to be equipped with a 100 kWh battery pack to enable 600 km (373 miles) of range based on the WLTP standard. In real world range, it should easily result in over 483 km (300 miles) of range on a single charge.
As for charging that big battery pack, Peugeot didn’t release any details aside that they aim to “add 500 km of range in 25 minutes” and they want to offer induction charging.
The battery pack would feed an all-wheel-drive electric powertrain with an expected power output of 340 kW. Peugeot expects that it would result in a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration “in less than 4 seconds” and a maximum speed of 220 km/h (137 mph).
Electrek’s Take
I know it’s just another electric concept but come on! This thing looks awesome.
Let’s go Peugeot, make this machine and don’t change a thing from the concept – aside from the autonomous features if it’s not ready.
Also, while you are at it, come back to the US because this would be a great EV for the US market. It would compete against the Mustang and Camaro.
